The Faerie Fern Leaf

Lunathesun shares this tale of childhood encounters. An intriguing and sudden burst of Faerie activity which seemingly began with a guided mediation and a fern leaf… curiouser and curiouser. Read on…

Hi this was my experience!

I was around 10 when this happened and it was actually in my house.

It all started when I found a video of a woman on youtube talking about her experience with faeries. She was talking about how they changed her life and actually started crying a bit talking about them. She later mentioned at the end of the video to visit her website. It was along the lines of ‘faeries are real’.

When I was at the website, the background looked like an old paper. Like the yellow ones you see in old books and it had fancy fonts and what not. It also mentioned that it was under renovations or something like that. fern girl (2)

In one link it said, ‘how to see faeries’. There it said a method that was written like a guided meditation. All I remember from it was visualizing a white ball that goes around the house cleaning all the bad energy and then the white ball enters your body to clean out the bad energy from you and then after comes out of your body and disperses after.

I know there was more to this but I can’t remember. Then I try finding the faeries, but it obviously didn’t work. I don’t remember how long it was until I finally got this incident but i would say in about a week.

So, one day my best friend came over we were playing in my living room. We were being kids and just running and jumping into the couch. At one point, my best friend gets up and there was a fern stuck on her lower back. I take it, confused because we were no where near any plants at the point and I didn’t see her come in with that plant. brownie2 (2)

Then I try to match it with any of the ferns in my house (which were only two of them). It matched none of them. I placed it on a tall dresser in my room in a vase. I thought it was weird, and so I forgot about it.

Then the next day I was sitting in the living room when a small elf (now I know it was was a brownie) like a foot tall ran in a zig zag line in my living room really quickly and ran under my legs and disappeared.

The next day I was going into the bathroom and I see a small orange orb floating around near my towels and I go quickly to it but it goes into my towel and disappears.

Then the next day, I’m coming out of the bathroom and on the crown molding that is in the middle of the wall that is right next to the bathroom, a blue stereotypical fairy is sitting in it.

It had blue hair and blue skin and wings. It also looked like it was watching my mom cook.

blue fairy (2)

However when I got near it, the fairy dove to the floor and the floor rippled like water. That was the craziest experience but that was my last.

The next day the fern that I placed on my dresser disappeared. I asked my mom if she took it and she said why would she take it.

It couldn’t have been my little brother because he was too short and my dad could care less. I searched for it but I couldn’t find it.

If anyone knows the website or video I’m talking about please let me know because I can’t seem to find it.

Thank you!

Fae in my Life

My name is Richard. I have been practicing witchcraft and Wicca for over 20 years.

ball of light (2)I had experiences with the Fae including those of Celtic, even before I had embraced Wicca.

The Fae folk had appeared to me in dreams, as well as in the physical world.

When I see them they appear as points of light. As well as glowing mists of light. And even as shadowy forms. shadow (2)

At times they appear in physical form either small to the size of a human.

They have become more frequent in my life. Even as I write this I sense their presence more so since it’s one of their holidays, the Summer Solstice.

Despite what some may think. They are very real. I am truly blessed that they are in my life. They and their relations.

Blessed be.

Faerie in the Fireplace

This is a really intriguing, and ongoing, encounter I received from Jennifer in Canada.

There is a lot going on here. A lot of activity and emotion too. I have a few ideas about what might be happening, but take a read yourself and i’ll meet you back at the end of Jennifer’s account. – Kitty.

About 3 nights ago I had an unusual experience in my home. My dog has been staring and tracking something on some walls in our home that I don’tjennifer-glitter-lights-for-blog.jpg see.

I have seen some bright sparkles here and there on the walls but that was it til 3 nights ago.

At that time, I noticed my dog staring at my fireplace insert, it’s a fake fireplace. Thought that was odd so took a few pictures into the fire box insert and nearly fainted when I looked at those pictures.

There were about 6 or 7 little entities staring back at me. They looked pretty surprised I was looking at them and actually I felt that they were afraid. THEY were afraid, I wasn’t exactly overjoyed. lol.

Anywho, they moved around from photo to photo but I didn’t ever see them moving. If I caught them, they just froze. I got one pic where a big brown head was almost visible like it was materializing in there and in another it was in a different place in the fire box and in a different position.

I am sharing a picture of one of them with you. The photo is quite dark since the fire box is black inside and it wasn’t bright in the room. Not sure they are even visible in bright light. Anyways a friend of mine lightened up the photo so the entity is much more visible than the first shot I took.

Look in the middle of the pink circle I drew and the entity is in the centre. Its grey and seems to be looking down into the fire box. It’s just its head that is seen sticking out what seems to be a black hole in the side of the fire box. It has a big nose like Jim Durante’s nose was, sort of comical in look and you can see its beady little eye too.

Most people think it’s a fairy but I’m not sure, not familiar with all the types of gnomes etc. I don’t get a scary feeling from them but not happy either. I have had several UFO sightings in this area too over the years as has most of my neighbours. Weird area. We are very close to a big river, like across the street. Would love to know what you all think. Thank you.

I will tell you what is going on now with all this. Yesterday I think it was, time is blurring here, I went into my living room to get a couple of things and my back was to the fireplace where my first sighting of the beings took place, a few days before.

My little dog was sitting on the back of the couch near the fireplace. While my back was turned to it. I heard a distinct, pretty loud shuffling sound from the fireplace and right at that moment my dog whipped around and barked at the fireplace.

OH BOY!

Now the little suckers are making sounds. Sigh. I have never heard any auditory sounds from anything like this. I have had visitations from what are think are ETs and ghosts in the past and some not long ago actually but the only time I hear anything from them is when I wake up in the middle of the night and I seem to be in the middle of 2 people talking but the voices are quick.

One said once ‘she’s awake’. The other just happened last month, woke up to the voice of a woman who seemed to be sitting near my bed right around my head who just said loudly ‘WHATTT??” That was it.

I have had entities touch me 3 times since I was a teen and woke up after these events the next morning without any memory of how I got back to bed or what if anything happened in between. I am telling you this because the heads of these beings I am seeing now are mostly alien like but some are silly colors like bright yellow.

Good/bad, helpful, malevolent, I have no idea. I know nothing about gnomes and elementals but looked into that last night. If I knew they were just harmless fairies I could live with that but even those I hear can be nasty depending on the mood. If anyone has ever seen anything like the two pics I have of these beings I would love to know. Right now I don’t even really want to acknowledge them so trying to stay away from the area and maybe bore them into leaving. lol.

I am saying a prayer now given to me by paranormal investigators that basically goes straight to my Source, God, for help. In it I ask God to either release or destroy so that if these beings aren’t harmful but just lost or frightened God will help to release them from this place and maybe they can be saved. I would love that first if possible. So, see what happens.

This pic of the fireplace folk is grainy but it’s the best I could do. The big blob on the logs started out first time I saw it as a big brown head peeping over the logs, you could see two beady eyes when I first saw it. In this photo it almost looks like it has more of a longer alien type head.

On the back wall of the fireplace behind the big head you can see two what look like almost clown heads as if painted on the wall. This was not on the wall before and it isn’t now. It’s like something was trying to scare me with ‘scary’ faces. lol.

On the left there is a little yellow very Grey Alien type head but its cartoonish. Finally, on the extreme left bottom of the fireplace there is a little grey alien type head and you can just barely make out the eyes.

Well, what did you make of that? It’s a situation I wouldn’t want to find myself in, and no doubt, but 2 things spring to mind.

First, is that the ‘creatures’ are some kind of Brownie: a Household Faerie. The character of Brownies varies wildly from region to region. some attach themselves to a home, others to a family. It’s possible these creatures are attached to the house Jennifer and her dog are living in. I would be interested to know if Jennifer is descended from a Scottish or Irish family as it is said that Brownie’s from those areas attach to the family, not the home, and will follow them wherever they go, including across the oceans.

Did I mention Brownie’s are notoriously easy to offend? It is possible Jennifer, or her dog, have entirely unintentionally, offended the Brownie’s and this is why they are causing such mayhem in her home, and by extension to her life. One of my Podcasts in the month of May takes a close look at Household Faerie and I share several stories of Brownie shenanigans. If Jennifer’s situation is a case of wicked Brownie’s, I hope they soon bore of their antics and settle down again.

Of course, it is possible the house is occupied by malevolent Faerie or spirits, and I understand that Jennifer has taken some action to counter this possibility. It reminds me of a news article I read recently about a ‘haunted’ house in Ireland which caused some debate about how best to deal with it. Take a read and let me know what you think of Jennifer’s predicament. – Cheers, Kitty

Lights at Trundle Hill Fort

I remember going to the Trundle (Hill Fort) in Sussex one Lammas eve just before sunset only to find it unusually quiet (I had the place to myself).

Trundle hill fort sussex (2)

southdowns.gov.uk

Got the odd feeling the whole hill was being somehow set outside of the stream of time for a while, or somehow time was flowing round it (this won’t make much sense to anyone who hasn’t felt something similar themselves).

At the top I happened to look down at the grass and was amazed to see what we call “glow-worms”. The insects with the lit up bodies. They hadn’t been there/glowing before that. Not one or two mind you, but hundreds and hundreds. The whole damn hill was covered in them like stars! It was a really beautiful sight at sunset I can tell you.

Now I grew up on a farm not so very far away from this hill in Surrey, and never saw a “glow-worm” in all my life before that (I was 18-ish), and I have only ever seen one since (I’m 50).

I definitely got the feeling the “fair folk” were putting on a show somehow, manipulating the natural world, though I dare say the less impressionable souls will see nothing to wonder at. But there it is.

Being a witch and Wiccan. I did, and still do, have visits from the Fae.

wood fairy (2)Yes, some can be small. But appear as ball of lights or orbs. No, they not like Tinkerbell.

But they are majestic and beautiful spiritual beings. However they can take animal forms. And mix animal attributes with human.

Those who visit me seem to be from all over the world. And I heard them speak in middle eastern languages as well as European. And yes, some do have an Irish or Scottish accent.

I believe some are djinn and some are Sidhe. One that represents them is a tall woman with long black hair. Her skin can be dark. Or light grayish or blue in color. She helps me in my path of Wicca and witchcraft.

Sorry, might of strayed from the subject. Blessed be.

Encounter with Scottish Forest Faerie

I hope you enjoy this incredibly vivid account of an encounter in a dark, wet Scottish forest. In all honesty, I’m not sure I would have remained as composed as Kelly. I find it particularly interesting that the Faerie seemed to ‘test’ Kelly, and appreciate her feisty nature. – Kitty.

I was living in my car at this time, my partner lived in his. We both had one dog each with us, but we were freezing cold and struggling to cope with the elements.

We were temporarily homeless and had nowhere else to go. On this particular night we were on the beach at Oban.

The wind was strong and it was below freezing. My partner suggested we go to the forest. It was a place he often camped in, and he had left a small tent in a secret location there, it was his emergency home.

I agreed to spend the night in the tent, because I needed to lay down flat, and my car was too small to sleep in and relax.scot forest logs

The forest itself was on an incline. The ground was very muddy and slippery. We only had the moonlight to help us navigate our way up through the trees. I had to climb over fallen trees and crawl under the low laying ones. I was not in a good mood.

We found the tent and it was in a state of disrepair. The front zip had broken and the inner bedroom compartment zip only went down half way. So this made the tent colder than usual.

I complained constantly about our plight, while the wind whistled round the tent and the cold froze my fingers and toes.

maple puddle

I bought a mat and a sleeping bag to lay on, but as soon as I got in the sleeping bag, that is when the rain started. It poured down and soon the tent floor was soaking, which in turn saturated my sleeping bag. By now, I was a snivelling wreck.

I just sat crying and feeling sorry for myself suddenly, two men started talking to each other at the back of the tent. I could hear them as clear as anything. They sounded like they were having a normal day to day chat but I could not make out any of their words, even though I felt it was familiar, like English.

The chat seem to last some time, possibly about half an hour. During this time I tried to think of any possible reason why, or how, anyone had found this actual spot, that was well hidden from the public, and why they should be stood chatting in a storm.

The chat ended. After a few moments I heard the sound of heavy foot prints walk around the tent, crunching sticks under foot. My heart was pounding in fear, because we were so vulnerable.

Suddenly something hit the tent, it hit it so hard the canvas came inwards towards me. This happened 3 times. It was as if someone was using a heavy stick to strike the tent. My heart was beating so fast, I could barely speak. The dogs started barking and jumping around. Then silence.

I was now so distressed I was on my knees rocking backwards and forwards. I hadn’t slept for nights, and I was exhausted. I closed my eyes and tried to lull myself to sleep.

tent in rain

That is when I heard the music. It was coming from further up the forest. There was no housing up there, or anywhere a band could play. Yet, it sounded like a band was starting. I heard a rich, male voice start to sing out in to the wind. I could not make out the words, but he sounded like a young man.

violin

The violins sounded out, yet they were not violins. The instruments where familiar, yet nothing I had heard of in my day to day life.

The music got louder and louder and it was like a party was starting. I heard lots of voices start to join in. It gave me comfort, but it intrigued me so much, because I wanted to know how and why anyone would want to party in a storm, in the middle of winter, in a cold, muddy forest. It made no sense.

I still had my eyes closed, but now I “saw” all these faces coming towards me, mocking me, teasing me, trying to scare me. Some were hideous and frightening, some human like and handsome. The one I recall the most was the young man. I somehow linked his face to the voice that was singing. He had a mop of dark curly hair and beautiful green eyes, he looked Irish to me, he was the one with the cheeky smile.

I was so infuriated by my plight that I had no time for fear now. So the scary faces that growled at me, I swore at, and told them to back off. Their expressions changed. Some looked bemused, one looked shocked. Then suddenly, it was if they thought “who the hell is this woman?”, and they softened up towards me. I honestly felt like they came to ward me off, and some came to welcome me, but in the end, it was like a general acceptance. I really believed at this point that I was in THEIR forest, and that they had decided I could stay.

I spoke in my mind to the faces and their expressions is where I got their answers. I asked them if I should leave my partner, because I blamed him for out plight, and one laughed, the other looked confused, and the other face rolled its eyes! In other words, “it was none of their business!”

So they disappeared. That is when the wind picked up, and started to whistle through the trees. I could not believe what I was hearing, it was like the trees where singing! It was so beautiful, it hypnotised me. I felt like I should leave the tent and follow the sound, and go and join the fairies, but at this point, my partner told me to stay inside. It was like I was been lulled out of the tent.

I stayed put and then suddenly the wind died down, then the rain stopped.

That is when the ball of light came bouncing in to the tent. It was like a purple, lit up bouncy ball. It came in and knocked things over. There was no explanation for what it was. The dogs went insane and started barking at it at running towards it. I was sat opened mouthed in absolute wonder.

It bounced out of the tent and disappeared.

That is when I fell asleep.

The next morning I asked my partner if he saw or heard anything, to which he replied, “Congratulations Fallbrook, you met the fairies”.

rainbow after storm

We got a job soon after and moved into a park. During the coming winter when the season ended, they came back to see me twice. Both times they struck the caravan three times! I knew it was them. I called out “hello”.

I believe the fairies are like people. You get the good, the bad, and the ugly. I think they saw my distress, and some wanted to help me, while others wanted to scare me out of their forest, but they came around because I am strong spirited. I see them as my friends.

I try to protect the forest, because I believe it is their home. I also think that when I go to other places on the west coast of Scotland, they recognise me.

They are hidden, but real. I love them. I hope to meet them again and talk to them. I just hope that my circumstances are nicer than the last time.

I did meet them again, but that is another story.

I swear my story is true. I really did see them, and hear them. My dogs saw them. They see us, but it is hard for us to see them. I believe that you need the second sight to see them.

Edinburgh Orb

This is a story from Scotland but I figure Scottish and Irish Faeries are like cousins, right? So I’ll tell you anyway.

Edinburgh

One night, not so long ago, me and a mate booked into a hotel in Edinburgh. We were in town to watch the Hibernian v Dundee game at Easter Stadium and didn’t fancy the drive home after, you know. The game wasn’t worth writing about (nil all draw) and we hit the town after.

So the boozer closed and we were well soused and found a van for a bite to eat and set off for the hotel. For the life of us, we couldn’t remember the name of our hotel or where it was. So we started walking and ended up in Holyrood Park, miles from the stadium.

We were sobering up and thinking of sleeping in the park when a circular light like an orb, appeared about 20 feet from us. The light alternated between white and green.

abstract-texture-1162984

Of course, we followed it and followed it, for we had no other thing to do, but no matter how fast we walked, or ran, it always stayed 20 feet ahead of us. We couldn’t catch it and couldn’t see anything surrounding it. It’s hard to describe, but the orb didn’t light up the space around it, just itself.

So we followed the orb until it stopped still in front of a gate. It was only then we caught up and saw it. Only it wasn’t an orb, but a small fellow, maybe four foot tall, with very dark, wrinkled skin and a big head, stood there smiling. He tipped his hat and said “Cheerio” and was gone. We were standing in front of our hotel, and sober.
